Wireless - Independant Help
Another option for obtaining high-speed Internet is Wireless technology. There are a range of wireless solutions available so rather than selling a single product to clients, we have relationships in place with a number of wireless vendors so that we can work with our clients to obtain the best solution for their situation.

What is Wireless?
As the name suggests, wireless Internet connections are just another way of connecting to the Internet ... except that you don't need a phone line or any other sort of cable.  Wireless connections are usually permanent so there's no need to manually connect each time you turn your computer on. Wireless connections use radio waves or microwaves to transmit information through the air, just like a TV or normal radio transmitter.

The Advantages
Because wireless connections aren't limited by cables, they can transmit information at high speeds.  Another advantage of not needing cables is that they can be quite widely available - all it takes is another piece of radio equipment on top of a hill or tall building, and you've got coverage over quite a large area. Furthermore, wireless connections generally provide the same connection speed in both directions at the same time.  That means that they can be well-suited for virtual private networks (connecting two or more offices together).

... and the Disadvantages
The main disadvantage with wireless is that, just like the radio in your car, it can be subject to interference (which slows your connection down because information has to be re-transmitted and can cause reliability issues), and black spots (where you have no coverage at all). That's why one of the first steps with wireless is to assess your particular site to see whether it's suitable for a wireless connection.
