Return on Investment

How much value is there in a site that has static information? Certainly, there is some - but a site that never changes is not likely to bring visitors flocking back again and again!

If you consider your own web browsing patterns, you'll probably find that most of the sites you visit on a daily or weekly basis are not static ... and that's the reason you visit them!

It's just common sense that the most valuable websites are those that are dynamic.

These sites often provide value to visitors by continually publishing new information and/or allowing them to perform some useful functions on the site. In doing so, a dynamic website provides extra value to its website visitors, it saves costs, or it minimise risks or some combination of all three. In doing so, a dynamic site gives a much better return on the original investment.

Custom Design

While some solutions can be implemented using off-the-shelf solutions, companies often find that one-size-fits-all doesn't always work very well because it doesn't meet the exact needs and requirements of the organisation. In the long term, an off-the-shelf solution can even cost more, depending on how much customisation and re-programming is required.

Our approach is to work with clients to identify their requirements, and then find the best solution to meet these - whether that's an off-the-shelf solution, a fully customised application, or some combination of the two.

Cynergic Web Development Methodology
Our methodology for designing websites is shown below.

This structured methodology becomes increasingly useful as the size and complexity of websites and web applications increases.

Steps Outline:

Imagine - Define the general functions that the website or web application will perform.

Plan - Decide how the project will progress, assign roles, define scope, estimate costs, and plan timelines.

Creative - Review existing marketing materials and create a look and feel for the site or application. All designs by Cynergic are original which means that the sites we design are also uniquely original.

Technical - Write and test the site or application code to ensure correct functionality.

Integrate - Integrate the application code with the creative work to form a finished product.

Deploy - Transfer the site or application created from the test environment to the live server.

Maintain - Implement methods or agreements for maintaining the site on an ongoing basis.

Balance
At Cynergic, we appreciate that there needs to be a balance between visuals (form), technology (function), and the business purpose of a site or application.

This balance is different for each site.

As such, it's important to have experienced consultants on your side who can identify the issues involved and provide advice during the decision-making process.

B2B vs B2C

When designing a web application, it's important to distinguish between the goals, objectives, and methods of operation of businesses and those of consumers.

Although you're still dealing with people, the context in which they will use your application is very different if they're at work or at home. In the same way as office furniture and décor is often more focussed on function compared to a home situation, business-to-business applications also need to be focussed on helping users get their jobs done.

Business sites certainly need to be aesthetically pleasing, however their main emphasis should be on speed, access to information, and functionality. For example, there aren't too many business users who want to sit through lengthy animated introductions just to get their stock prices.

The other two main issues that must be considered in any website development (but particularly B2B) are robustness, and scalability. These are very important because any site failures are very public on the web.

Through the use of our experienced consultants, companies can be confident that the applications we produce will be designed using robust architectures that are also highly scalable. This means your site will achieve maximum availability and usefulness since it will be able to grow with your business.
